Newborn hats – photography props

In between one wedding and another just a very quick post on some exciting newborn photography plans. :] Below I’ve uploaded the newest photography props my mum made over the last 2 months, I’m super excited to be playing with them this Spring. Newborn photography is like a treat and creative distraction for me rather than main focus of my photographic work, something I thoroughly enjoy but am not looking to expand in this area business wise. At the moment I’m only booking one newborn session per month and I do apologize for the declining messages I sometimes end up sending.

Moving away from the [boring!] business talk let me just share the thought of how much I LOVE the fact my mum is such an amazing knitter/crocheter/seamstress and that she’s helping me, sharing my excitement and cheering for me from the moment I first picked up a camera 3.5 yrs ago.  She lives far away but very close to my heart, never stopped supporting me especially during really low times and believed in me when no one else did, including myself…

…not to go down the sobby route what I’m trying to say here really is that I have [simply] the best mum in the world.  :]

And here are the newborn photography props, she’s getting really good at it!:)

The top left hat took my mum something like 1.5 days to make – she was staying at mine then getting sooo angry with this time consuming pattern it makes me laugh when I think about it haha. I guess she would not offer to make this hat again for the chunkiest fee ever!:DBut I love it the most of all, I think it looks just great, well worth… all these hours… of work…. sorry mum!:D

Newborn photography in London – baby Jax

Baby Jax – cuteness overload. Beautiful young lad although not a very good sleeper.:)We waited ages until he eventually drifted away to the dreamland, which was the last few minutes of the shoot really haha. Nonetheless here we are with the set of images, hope you like.

work in progress…

This is not very usual of me but hey – ‘it’s my blog I can do what I want to!’;)So here I wanted to show you some of the pre weddings sessions I have done recently that are waiting to be edited (images below are not edited or only delicately touched). I know some of you literally can’t wait for your wedding/engagement images to be all done and delivered, but I can just promise you – I am getting there, slowly but consistently! I’ve almost given up my life and glued my bottom to the chair but with the perfectionist approach of mine (that I’m seriously starting to hate!)  it’s still taking ages if I’m to go this patiently and carefully through every single job of mine. I just want to make sure each couple gets the qualities they’ve chosen me for from start to finish.

Anyway, see below previews of some shoots I’ve had over the past months that haven’t yet been finished, polished and delivered. I love it how each couple is completely different and how they are all very creative and beautiful in and out. It feels beyond amazing becoming part of their history.

Clare & Paul – wedding photography @ New House Hotel, Thornhill

Introducing a fabulous couple Clare and Paul on their wedding day in New House Hotel, Thornhill.

I would like to take this opportunity (haha how formal!;))  to explain that I’m changing my approach to blogging.:)I will be making my posts smaller and smaller and smaller until I’ve developed a skill of choosing my favorite 20 photographs of one wedding (rather than 200 which is what used to happen!) What you see below is significantly less images to what I used to show but still far too many of them, and this is my first step on the road to ‘blogger friendly’ (hah!) posts. The reason for all this is very simple: creating huge blog posts takes me ages (don’t even ask how long!) and I simply can’t afford it. I look at other photographers blogs thinking  ’why one earth are my blog posts sooo huge?!?!’. So I decided to give up the approach of  ’showing the full story’. Now I will only be uploading few quirkiest, my personal favorite (of  various photographic reasons or simply down to my taste) photographs.

Having said all that the below post contains still loads of images, and is meant to be the bridge between the old and the new.;)I hope you like, it was such a beautiful day! And the most gorgeous couple ever.  :) x

Superb set of photos Aga. Beautiful bride, great landscape portraits overlooking Cardiff. You’ve done the New House brilliantly before but this was better again! How you’re going to stop yourself from showing no more than 20 I don’t know, I’ll believe when I see it, but definitely better way to go for you to have more time. I enjoyed all 130 something photos :) Tx

No way, is it really 130?!?!! I was so proud of myself that I made this post ‘smaller’! Oh well… I have a lot to learn… ;) )

Thank you Tim!

I follow your blog posts and like very much the big number of pictures you publish. In my opinion it is great advertisement and simply helps you to book the weddings. It is also get oportunity for photographers and myself to learn composition and
see how you approached particular situation in order to capture it with taste. Hopefully it will take you time to go from 130 to 20 :)
