Pre-Wedding Shoot

‘You must know yourself and your subject well before you can take a picture’ - (anonymous)

During the pre wedding shoot, Phototom photographers assess your confidence in front of the camera and also invite you to assess them, in order to prove their skills and put the couples at ease when the big day comes.

One of the brides said: ‘I loved the fact that when I saw Aga on my wedding day morning, still wearing rollers and shaking of excitement, I felt so familiar with her as a person that it wasn’t any problem for me to let her become a part of our girlie team. I knew exactly what she was going to do, and I had a 100% trust the images of the preparation stage are going to be amazing, even if I felt like I looked ridiculous!  And they were absolutely amazing, together with the rest of our exciting day!’
Aga says ‘the engagement shoot is so essential to the way we work, that I just can’t give it up, even if it means an additional work at the very busy time. It builds the trust between me and the couple, we get to know each other, trust each other, and feel comfortable with each other. And this is so important at the wedding day, the couples, especially the brides want to know the photographer is a nice, relaxed, enthusiastic person who’s going to make them feel natural and capture their very best side. During pre wedding shoots we often talk about the complexes and I advise on how to hide them from the camera, I also talk about posing when it comes to the little ‘couple photoshoot’, facial expressions, sometimes even the type of hair or make up! I know what works with the camera and what doesn’t, I look at things from the lens’s perspective. Throughout the engagement session I explain to the couples some basic rules of portrait photography, giving away tips on how to look and feel more relaxed which results in becoming more photogenic.
