Wedding Photographer Cardiff

Our wedding photography style

A photograph is not an accident—it is a concept. It exists at, or before, the moment of exposure of the negative. - Ansel Adams

We believe our images are well-thought and designed before pressing the shutter. We pay enormous attention to the most important and essential values that are detail, composition and light. These are key to beautiful, artistic wedding photographs.

We are proud of our bespoke, individual style which distinguishes us from competitors. Our capture of your wedding incorporates unforced events and emotions taking place throughout the day. Our approach to your wedding day is non-obtrusive and of a reportage style. As opposed to the ‘traditional’ wedding photography approach, we would simply witness your wedding, rather than take a lead and therefore influence it. We do, however, appreciate the need for the traditional ‘line-ups’ with your family and friends, and are happy to include it into your day schedule if this is what you require.

TECHNICALITIES

In our work, we use completely digital equipment plus a range of creative digital tools during the post production stage of wedding photographs. Our photography concepts and editing skills have been appreciated in the very demanding fashion industry, where we have built a strong position and are well recognizable.

After your wedding day, we carefully edit each individual photograph in a digital darkroom, which enables us to turn the images into artistic pieces and reduces the flaws that may spoil the final effect.

BEFORE AND AFTER

It takes us a minimum of 7 days to prepare a fully edited set of your wedding images. It requires advanced post-processing techniques and is therefore a very time consuming process- we really appreciate the clients understanding of the scale of work we undertake after your wedding.

After making a selection of the best images, we edit every chosen photograph (minimum  of 250 images, depending  on the chosen package). This includes correcting little flaws and highlighting strongest elements and, in some cases, going for a more elaborate transformation of tones and colours- bringing a completely novel quality to the photograph.

It is important, therefore, to notice the difference between the heartfelt, thorough nature of our work and the ‘point – shoot – download – burn on DVD’ wedding photography service that many of our competitors offer.

WHAT’S NEXT?

If you’ve browsed through our galleries and consider us to be your potential wedding photographers, here is the usual pattern for our clients to follow- from the moment they become interested to the moment they receive their wedding album.

  1. E-mail us enquiring about our availability on your wedding date and we will get back to you within 48 hours. Please note that we only shoot a limited number of weddings per year due to the nature of our photography work. We can be booked at any time- the first person with the contract form signed will be able to book us for their wedding. If your date is unavailable in our diary, we will recommend other professional photographers for you.
  1. If we are available on your specified date, we will suggest the pre-booking consultation. The pre-booking consultation is approximately an hour long where we meet at a convenient time and location and view our sample albums over cup of tea. This is an opportunity for you to see our work in its final form (albums, printouts, cases etc…) and for us to get to know you and your plans for the big day. This meeting is complimentary and takes place before any decisions are made. We believe it is important for the couple to know what kind of person the wedding photographer is, and this initial personal contact is essential for them to decide whether they’re making the right choice.
  1. After the meeting, we allow you to make the decision of whether you feel we are suitable for your wedding day. We will look forward to your e-mail with the final statement and, if appointed, will then send you the contract form, which needs to be completed, signed, and sent back to us with the deposit. Booking fee varies from £150- £250 depending on the package, and is payable by cheque or online transfer.
  1. Once we receive the deposit, we issue the formal receipt and your wedding date is secured in our diary. The next step is for us to arrange the engagement shoot (no later than 6 weeks before your wedding day).
